Zo kan een onbeduidende detail de achillespees van de voorbereiding, van de prestatie worden, net dat waar toevallig overheen gekeken werd, dat onvoldoende aandacht kreeg, dat elementje dat een anders goed geoliede machine nu mist...

Prof. Annelies Maenhout werkte 4 jaar in het schouderonderzoeksteam van Prof. dr. Ann Cools en behaalde in 2012 haar doctoraat. Tijdens een 3 jarig postdoctoraal onderzoeksproject over schouderrevalidatie zette ze haar onderzoek verder en combineerde dit met de praktijk in het sportmedisch centrum UZ Gent. Heden is ze verbonden als gastprofessor aan de opleiding kinesitherapie van de UGent. In Kinepraktijk Latem revalideert ze patiënten met schouderblessures en geeft ze advies.
Dr. Dorien Borms studeerde in 2012 af als Master in de Revalidatiewetenschappen en kinesitherapie en in 2013 als Manueel Therapeut aan de UGent. Sinds 2020 is ze werkzaam als post-doctoraal onderzoeker aan dezelfde Universiteit.Het onderwerp van haar onderzoek gaat over schouderrevalidatie in het algemeen en meer specifiek over biceps gerelateerde problematiek en functionele testing van de bovenhandse atleet. Daarnaast geeft ze ook les aan de studenten kinesitherapie en revalideert ze patiënten met schouderblessures in de kinepraktijk van Ann Cools.
Professor Rowena Johnson is a consultant musculoskeletal radiologist with expertise in diagnostic imaging and image guided interventions in elite athletes. She works with numerous international athletes and clubs including within the Premier League, Championship football, Lawn Tennis Association, British Olympic team, British Athletics, British Triathlon, international rugby and cricket, and the Royal Ballet. She works at the Fortius Clinic, London which is a FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence and has a wide breadth of experience also having worked at the University of Toronto Hospitals, and Oxford University Hospitals. She is the Chair and Clinical Lead of the Royal College of Radiologists Education overseeing the clinical radiology annual congress, national and international meetings and the online education platform . She is also the Chair of Sports Medicine Imaging at the Carnegie School of Sport, Leeds Beckett University which is the largest provider of sport in UK higher education. Further roles include Vice-Chair of the International Society for Clinical Densitometry, UK/Ireland Panel and a member of the international Scientific Advisory Council, visiting Professor at the University of Dartmouth, USA and and a member of the ESSKA Basic Sciences committee.

Dr. Douglas Hoogendyk, PT, DPT, OCS, Cert. MDT, CSCS, CPSS Dr. Douglas Hoogendyk specializes in biomechanical assessment and movement science as it relates to joint function and athletic performance. Since starting his clinical practice in 2003, Dr. Hoogendyk has worked with the most renowned orthopedic and sports medicine organizations in the United States, including the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) in New York City and Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in West Orange New Jersey, consistently ranked the top orthopedic sports medicine and neurologic rehabilitation hospitals in the United States. Dr. Hoogendyk has served athletes and teams from all arenas nationally and internationally, including athletes from USA Track and Field, US Women's National Soccer Team, MLS, NBA, MLB, NFL, NHL, as well as tactical and special operations professionals. He was also a member of the Sports Medicine staff for the AVP Professional Beach Volleyball Tour from 2004-2010. As a Board-Certified Specialist in Orthopaedics (OCS), Evaluation & Treatment of the Spine (Cert. MDT), and Strength & Conditioning Science (CSCS) and Sports Science (CPSS), Dr. Hoogendyk has also earned his Orthopedic Residency and Fellowship in Biomechanics and Movement Science with the University of Southern California, Movement Performance Institute and Department of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy. He has served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Southern California in the Department of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy (Orthopedic Clinical Assessment, Clinical Imaging and Radiology). He was recruited to design and teach the Clinical Imaging and Radiology curriculum for the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Loma Linda University. Dr. Hoogendyk is an invited speaker and keynote presenter both nationally (NATA, APTA, MLS) and internationally (Isokinetic FIFA Conference, NSW Institute of Sport, Australia) on topics ranging from: running performance and injury, sports performance and technology, injury reduction strategies in the developing adolescent athlete and establishing qualitative and quantitative variables for return to sport readiness. Currently Dr. Hoogendyk is the Founder and CEO of Movement Health Science Inc., a 4000 square foot leading edge biomechanics and performance lab in the heart of Silicon Valley, California.
John has worked in the Australian high performance sport system for 35years, heading up sport science and athlete training services at the New South Wales Institute of Sport and the Olympic Winter Institute of Australia. He has worked across a range of sports including the skiing, snowboarding, sliding and skating sports, swimming, sailing, tennis, Paralympic sports, Australian Rules Football (Sydney Swans) and basketball (Sydney Kings). John has worked directly with over 250 athletes who have represented Australia and New Zealand at the Olympic Games including many who have won Olympic and World Championship medals. He has been selected on four Australian Olympic teams and attended five others where he had athletes competing. John is now “semi-retired”, working with Movement Health Science and undertaking his PhD.
